And as she spoke to Joseph day after day, he would not listen to her, to lie beside her or to be with her. But one day, when he went into the house to do his work and none of the men of the house was there in the house, she caught him by his garment, saying, “Lie with me.” But he left his garment in her hand and fled and got out of the house.
“Day after day”
1-temptation will be constant
“Would not listen to her”
2-he ignored it
“No one else was there”
3-he ended up alone
“Caught him by his garment”
4-temptation grabbed him
“Left his garment”
5-he left something behind and ran away
So he left all that he had in Joseph’s charge, and because of him he had no concern about anything but the food he ate.
-walking right with God will make you trustworthy
Now Joseph was handsome in form and appearance.
“And after a time his master’s wife cast her eyes on Joseph and said, “Lie with me.”
-Temptation will come especially when your in right standing with God
But he refused and said to his master’s wife, “Behold, because of me my master has no concern about anything in the house, and he has put everything that he has in my charge. He is not greater in this house than I am, nor has he kept back anything from me except you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness and sin against God?
-He knew God was the reason for his promotion!
If he was promoted under his own power he probably would have gave in.

“Now Joseph had been brought down to Egypt, and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, the captain of the guard, an Egyptian, had bought him from the Ishmaelites who had brought him down there. The Lord was with Joseph, and he became a successful man, and he was in the house of his Egyptian master.”
-The Lord will cause you to be successful
His master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord caused all that he did to succeed in his hands. So Joseph found favor in his sight and attended him, and he made him overseer of his house and put him in charge of all that he had.
-Non believers will see God working in you and want to be a part it.
From the time that he made him overseer in his house and over all that he had, the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; the blessing of the Lord was on all that he had, in house and field.
-Others will be blessed when you walk right with God
John 8:31-32So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
-The word of God brings freedom
They answered him, “We are offspring of Abraham and have never been enslaved to anyone. How is it that you say, ‘You will become free’?” Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin.
The only slavery they knew was form their ancestors they believed they were free.
-To choose sin is to choose slavery and it’s also choosing death
1 John 5:10-12
Whoever believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. Whoever does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has borne concerning his Son. And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.
-the story of redemption brings life
And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.
-people need to know your testimony so they may overcome

1 John 4:7-8 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
-God’s love compels us to love others
This teaching was on my heart to bring and discuss because it is very important in our Christian walk. A few months ago we had the students fill out a survey of topics they would like to hear about and Faith came up a lot.
